Talk:Main Page

From Ladder Wiki

Perhaps we should start sorting these articles now. I propose a couple main sections:

  • Ladder Theory Specifics and Terminology
  • Attraction/Connection/Seduction (a section for PU kinda stuff, if you will, ASF stuff kinda)
  • Personal Improvement
  • Personal/Overall Philosophies (section for people's opinions and philosophies, since a lot of flame's posts, BD's, mine, and others are all based heavily on personal belief and experience as well as fact)
  • Case Study Section (we could all comment on Whorer Stories in that section)

I also propose a section based on articles by author - BD posts, flame, Red, me, tollan, whoever else contributes. That'd be cool, everyone gets their 15 mins lol - plus if nothing else it's always cool to be able to read all articles from a fav poster - is there a function to this that allows this easily? Couldn't this be scripted? Is it already?

I AM NOT GEEKY ENOUGH I AM SORRY EVERYONE.

Throw some ideas up here and when we've thought it out we'll get organization down early instead of when we have 500 articles. -muz

I think these are good ideas. I was thinking we could possibly style it similar to the wikipedia portal sites, ie - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:War

I don't know about a function for easily organizing it by author. There may be, but I'm new to this software too.

Also I was thinking of using the namespace feature to organize some stuff. Right now we have everything as Article_Name. I think we could reserve that for factual articles like Oneities, then for opinion articles we could create a Articles or Posts Namespace so wed have something like Articles:Oneitis_by_Flame. We could also create a posters or people namespace so instead of it being Themuz, it would be People:Themuz.

I decided to create a main page sandbox, Main Page Sandbox, where we can play around with formatting. Also agree about the authors. Hopefully I'll have time to work on this more tonight, I've got a lot to learn still.

Also using 4 tildes, ie 4 ~s, is a shortcut for a signature -b Ladders 10:18, 12 July 2006 (PDT)

My former roommate told me to get up at 8 a.m. ON A FUCKING SATURDAY so we could go back to Ohio and pick some shit up. I waited until 10 a.m. and called him, and he was STILL FUCKING SLEEPING. He told me he decided not to go since it was going to rain. I told him to call next time, bitch.

Damn it.

Anyway, I am going to modify the front page a little with some descriptions of what the articles are about. I was looking it over, and I think that would help out an awful lot. So if you see a lot of changes, that is what's up.

This isn't your LJ, themuz :P

Also, I rearranged the links section again, because I feel the typical noob user will want to simply go down the list. If that's the case, then the information is best delivered in a certain chronological fashion. That is, you don't want them reading the LT, getting a basic idea, and then trying to fix themselves before having full understanding.

I mean, you know what happens when someone reads the LT the first time and gives it just a once-over, right? The standard forum noob response: "But how does my situation fit the ladder?" "What about this and that?" to which we always say, RTFLT "READ THE FUCKING LADDER THEORY". So I'm saying, it's important that we have the links in order, LT, details on LT, get it? get it? Good. Ok, now to improve yourself, read this... Like I know you had the "How to improve or get over being an IW or whatever" first, but the fact is, someone will NOT be ready for that if it's the 2nd link they try. That's gotta come last, or at least late into the game.

Sound right? --RedSeraph 08:04, 7 September 2006 (PDT)

Last time I checked I had registered ladderwiki.com as my own personal LJ. Dumbass.

Seriously though, about chronology, cool. Whatever you think works, I'm just doing some bitchwork in my off-time. I was just using the logic of 'Ok, I think we should try and keep all bold (accentuated, important) items together at the start. Your call though, SuperModerator. :D lol

I think the wiki is pretty well fleshed out. Now to get the forums back up so we can keep making new content...

That's a whole other series of headaches.
