Ladder Disparity is a measure of the difference that two people have ranked each other on their Good Ladders. (NOTE: For calculation purposes, when a man is on a woman's Friends Ladder, consider him being at 0 on her Good Ladder, since she isn't considering him as a sexual partner at all.)

For example, Bob meets Jane. Bob decides Jane isn't that great and he ranks her medium to low on his Ladder. Jane, on the other hand, finds Bob incredibly attractive, and possibly rich, and ranks him high on her Good Ladder. The difference between how much they like each other can be measured and is referred to as "disparity", in this case, greatly being in Bob's favor.

The results of this are manifested in Jane putting up with Bob cheating on her, not paying for her things, and otherwise abusing the relationship.

If the tables were turned, and Bob ranked Jane high on his Ladder while she was just friends with him, then it would manifest in Bob putting up with her flaking from dates, buying her things often, listening to her complain about other OBs she's having sex with, and probably becoming her full-fledged IW.

Ladder Disparity basically refers to who is in the "power position" of the relationship, and is a measure of how much the scales are tipped.
