Style is the screen name/nickname of Neil Strauss, author of the book "The Game". He was a writer in California, with only a mediocre track record with women, considered himself not great with them. He was given an assignment to do a story on the seduction community for a magazine, and in his research met Mystery and many other famous PUAs. He found himself entrenched in the community and greatly interested in their knowledge and skills, and learned a lot himself, and went on to become one of the most effective PUAs in the business. He invented a fair amount of unique material and became a major contributor to the community. The Game is his memoir of his time there.

Style has since retired from the PUA world and is trying to live out a quiet life with his soon-to-be-wife, the guitarist from Courtney Love's new band.

I like Style as a person, as an instructor he's maybe so-so. He trained under Mystery, so you can tell he borrows a lot from his methods. The deal with Style is that he was a much more normal guy than Mystery was when he started out (when you compare pre-PUA Mystery to pre-PUA Style). Style was just a magazine writer, kinda balding, a little shy, but normal, maybe he played D&D a few times. Mystery on the other hand, was painfully shy and awkward, and it seems like he didn't have any friends growing up. In light of this, you can understand Mystery's scientific, single-minded, borderline obsessive approach to the topic, and the fruits of it being concrete, methodic techniques with reasoned out explanations as to why they work. For me, that was super helpful, I wasn't so much painfully shy or awkward, but I was COMPLETELY deluded about how girls work, I simply had all the WRONG ideas which were very strong for me, rather than just being clueless like he was. So his reasoned out approach and explanation made perfect sense to me. In contrast, Style has a much more relaxed approach to pick up, and it's really just as effective in use because it greatly builds on Mystery's stuff, just that Style's presentation is much more geared to helping NORMAL people get better at picking up girls, not at helping complete losers, haha. So it depends on where you feel you are and how much help you need. Once I got better and got some inner game together, thanks to good results from Mystery's outer game tips, I started getting burnt out with the scientific approach, and that was when I found Style's stuff to be more useful, for its more laid back approach. So... take your pick. I approve of Style, he's got some good insights, and it seems more practical and less "magicky", which is not surprising considering Mystery's magician background, ha. --RedSeraph 07:38, 4 October 2006 (PDT)

When I read "The Game" it encouraged me. I saw this guy who was older then me getting chicks my age. I thought, "If he can do it, so can I". I also liked his laid-back approach. Style learned more from doing and intuition then science like Mystery. Style just feels more natural. I also liked how he described his feelings about PU. I detected a slight tinge of moral dislike for the art of seduction. Like when he talks about the times he lies, etc. All in all, a good PUA to strive to be. --CertifiedIW
