Dear Lakewood BlueClaws Fans,

Welcome back to FirstEnergy Park for the 2007 season. Last year the BlueClaws got over 2.5 million fans in our sixth year, and we’re excited to go over the 3 million mark in our seventh. We’ll be the fastest team in New Jersey and South Atlantic League history to do so, and obviously we couldn’t do it without you, the best fans in baseball.

Last year was truly a special season at the Shore, our first championship. It seems like only yesterday when Matt Thayer caught that fly ball to seal the SAL Championship right here in front of you. We got one in year six, and now we hope to get number two as we enter year seven. The entire BlueClaws organization is very excited to make this season the best one yet.

We are greatly indebted and owe a special thanks to Governor Jon Corzine, State Senator Robert Singer, and Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles, along with the entire Township Committee and Lakewood Development Corporation for their help and support in the success of the BlueClaws. And we’d be remiss if we didn’t thank Phillies President David Montgomery and the entire Phillies organization. They found the players that made up that Championship roster from a year ago.

For those who are new to our ballpark this year, Welcome. FirstEnergy Park features a newly-enhanced state-of-the-art scoreboard, three large picnic areas, an expanded Kids’ Zone, lawn seating, and entertainment between innings that will bring a smile to your face no matter what the scoreboard says.

We’ve again loaded up the promotional schedule, this year featuring several BlueClaws South Atlantic League Championship items, to honor the best team we’ve seen at the Jersey Shore. Also, be sure to pick up one of our newest features, Catch of the Day, a game-day program both interesting and free this year.

The BlueClaws have the best fans in minor league baseball and we will make a continued effort to make FirstEnergy Park a fun and exciting place to visit. We are anxious to offer you the best entertainment and the most enjoyable experience you can possibly imagine. We look forward to seeing you at FirstEnergy Park all summer long!
