David DeAngelo
From Ladder Wiki
David DeAngelo is a seduction artist, one of the lead PUAs in the field. He is most notable for his book and seminar series, Double Your Dating (or "DYD"), and also known for the backbone tactic within DYD, Cocky and Funny (or "C&F"). He was a former student of Ross Jeffries', and broke away from Jeffries' teachings to promote his own brand of seduction.
Most people in the community find DeAngelo's work easy to pick up, but leaving them wanting more or feeling that it isn't comprehensive enough. Still others try the more comprehensive techniques, such as Mystery Method, and then feel overwhelmed with all the details, leaving them to relax their approach to seduction by switching to DeAngelo's C&F technique, as it is simpler to think about while in the field and the PUA can relax rather than mull over specific details of the interaction. Another common opinion of DeAngelo is that he speaks too slow and too monotone, and comes off as either a salesman or a boring professor.
In later years, DeAngelo has been spending more of his production work and DVDs focused on inner game and general self-improvement and self-mastery, and comes off less as a PUA and more like a psychologist or zen buddhist monk. This material is rather useful for personal growth, and does indeed dovetail with seduction techniques, since it can greatly increase confidence and resolve. But it appears as though DeAngelo is less concerned with picking up women now, and more concerned with men being everything they can be in their own right - a noble purpose in itself, though not "seduction", which is what most people come to him for.

A lot of people think DD is boring, I didn't think he was too Ben Stein-like, but I gotta say his approach to seduction isn't real scientific. But for those who are overwhelmed I think it's a great introduction. Furthermore, of any famous PUAs out there, DavidD really focuses a lot on inner game, and he's got some great insights into it, it's good for getting in control of yourself and building confidence, a strong frame, etc. I would say anyone studying seduction really has to try David's stuff just to say they did, it isn't the be-all, end-all, but it's need-to-know stuff for some of it. --RedSeraph 10:51, 29 September 2006 (PDT)
I personally love Cocky and Funny, but it is also congruent with my personality - I'm usually a prick IRL. All the game gurus have something that can be learned from them, it's just a matter (IMO) of finding what works for you, because there is no one cut and dry method to attraction - every girl may be looking for something different, so if the end goal is getting laid by every girl you meet, then you must make sure you are versatile in your pickup. If that's NOT your primary goal and you would just like to score a chick that works out well with your personality so you could start a relationship, then the more natural you are the better off you will be, and in that case inner game would be the best thing to focus on since you'll be more natural and everything will be up front and go much more smoothly. DD is alright; like I said, I love C&F and think that most girls like that type of behaviour (at least initially in the attraction/connection steps, and I am also only talking about my current demographic - college age). Just remember - be versatile, and if you're looking for an easier way to do attraction, inner game never hurts. It may even help you in your professional life and in your other personal relationships. --themuz 06:41, 30 September 2006 (PDT)
